Lawyers as Innovators: Charting New Frontiers in Pro Bono
The 2016 Asia Pro Bono Forum held in Bali, Indonesia attracted over 200 participants from 24 different countries and a wide range of industries. The 2016 agenda drew on the richness of the regional context and sparked pro bono discussions among law firms, policy makers, law schools, civil society, etc., and helped deepen the conversation on how we can better make use pro bono bono resources for various pressing social justice needs. Key speakers included Michael Kirby, Asma Jahangir, Vitit Muntarbhorn and many more.
You can find more in-depth reports on the Forum in our News section below: APBF 2016 Highlights, Exploring Lawyers' Role in Business and Human Rights and Stepping Up in Combat Against Trafficking in Persons, Building Pro Bono Momentum in Indonesia.
The Forum this year also prompted the Indonesian legal community (8 law firms and 5 professional bodies as of Sept 1) to sign a Call to Action that pledges to grow legal pro bono in Indonesia. You can view the full Call to Action here.
